Under the artistic direction of cellist Raphaël Pidoux, the Ensemble Premières Scènes announces its first summer tour. Initiated and supported by the Talents & Violon’celles endowment fund, this flexible string ensemble enables the musicians of tomorrow to perform on exceptional instruments. From Baroque to contemporary, they explore a vast repertoire, offering audiences the vitality of youth combined with the richness of a unique instrumental heritage.
Depending on the works on the programme, Premières Scènes invites musicians from other disciplines to join them, as is the case this summer.

‘Fêtes galantes: Mozart and his era’
The theme of this season, ‘Fêtes galantes’, defines an aesthetic ideal specific to the late 18th century. The galant style, of which Mozart is the heir, emphasises clarity, melodic elegance and a witty dialogue between the instruments. It is an invitation to sensual pleasure and shared virtuosity, where each musician performs on a superbly crafted instrument from the Talents & Violon’celles collection.
The programme brings the Austrian genius into dialogue with his French contemporary Jean-Louis Duport. By showcasing the concerto by this great master of the cello, the Ensemble highlights the richness of musical exchanges of the era and provides the perfect setting for the exchange between internationally renowned soloists — Philippe Bernold, Anaïs Gaudemard, Gabriel and Raphaël Pidoux — and the young virtuosos of the ensemble.
Connecting a new generation with audiences nationwide
From the Paris region to the heart of the Drôme and Corrèze, the Ensemble Premières Scènes is setting out to explore these regions:

Talents & Violon’celles: Ensuring Every Talented Musician Can Play an Instrument Equal to Their Potential
Based on the observation that acquiring a quality instrument can be an inaccessible investment for a musician, the Talents & Violon’celles endowment fund supports talent by loaning instruments that allow them to fully develop their potential: pursuing studies under the best conditions, passing international competitions, and launching or developing a career.
Thanks to the support of private and institutional patrons, Talents & Violon'celles currently manages a collection of more than 130 string quartet instruments (violins, violas and cellos) and early music instruments (tenor violas da gamba, bass violins, bass violas, treble violas, etc.), including 39 built on its initiative, with a further three currently in production.
The project’s originality lies in its three converging ambitions: heritage, social, and cultural, which, shared between talented musicians, craftspeople, and donors, are a source of excellence.
