The Premières Scènes Ensemble Enchants the Salle Colonne: A Perfect Harmony Between Generations and Audience

In front of a packed and captivated Salle Colonne in Paris, the "Fêtes galantes" tour concert offered a moment of absolute grace. Under the direction of Raphaël Pidoux, the young virtuosos of the Premières Scènes Ensemble and renowned soloists brought the great classical repertoire to life in a rare spirit of transmission and complicity.

The concert on Tuesday, June 30th, will long be remembered at Paris's Salle Colonne. For this major Parisian stop on their 2026 summer tour, the young talents of the Premières Scènes Ensemble, supported by the Talents & Violon’celles endowment fund, performed to a full house and captured the hearts of the audience, patrons, and partners in attendance.

A Magical Alchemy at the Heart of the "Fêtes Galantes"

The evening’s program, entirely dedicated to the elegance, clarity, and fluidity of the late 18th-century style galant, fully delivered on its promise. The artistic complicity flowed both ways: an exceptional quality of listening prevailed on stage among the performers, finding a vibrant echo in the enthusiasm of the audience, who greeted every piece with warm applause.

The musical journey spotlighted works of rare refinement:

• Symphony No. 1 in E-flat major, K. 16 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a luminous work written at just seven years of age.

• Cello Concerto No. 6 by Jean-Louis Duport, magnified by the virtuoso playing of Raphaël Pidoux on his Goffredo Cappa cello (1680).

• Concerto for Flute and Harp in C major, K. 299 by Mozart, an extremely refined dialogue performed by guest soloists Philippe Bernold and Anaïs Gaudemard.

• Oboe Concerto in C major, K. 314 by Mozart, performed with all the nobility and expressiveness required by Gabriel Pidoux, Révélation at the Victoires de la Musique Classique.

A Laboratory for Transmission and Excellence

Beyond the technical performance, the very essence of the Premières Scènes Ensemble’s mission shone through: the transmission of knowledge between generations. Seeing these highly promising young musicians perform side-by-side with leading international soloists perfectly embodies the mission of our endowment fund.

Thanks to the generosity of our patrons, these artists have the opportunity to pursue their careers playing exceptional instruments from the French and Italian violin-making heritage (violins by Claude Pierray, Carlo Tononi, or Gand Bernardel; violas and cellos by Patrick Robin or Bernardel Père). This alliance of youthful vitality and the deep resonance of instrumental heritage gave the concert a truly unique soul.
